Mary Fallin to present State of the State Address in TulsaThe Tulsa Metro Chamber will host Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin for a State of the State Address to the Tulsa business community on Tuesday, July 24 at the Tulsa Convention Center, 100 Civic Center, from noon-1:30 p.m. Fallin first entered public service in 1990 when she was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives. She went on to serve two terms in the Oklahoma House before becoming the first woman and first Republican to be elected lieutenant governor of Oklahoma in 1994. In 2006, Fallin was elected to the U.S. Congress, and she went on to another first when she was elected the first-ever female governor of Oklahoma. During her first session as governor, Fallin balanced the budget while closing a $500 million deficit and was still able to lower taxes. She also saw many of her legislative priorities signed into law, including lawsuit reform, workers' comp reform, comprehensive education reform and government modernizations. Cost to attend the lunch is $40 for Chamber members and $50 for non-members, or $1,500 to sponsor a table of eight.
