ONE PLACE TOWER BREAKS GROUND
6.24.2011
Downtown Tulsa’s skyline is set to have a new addition. Developers broke ground today on the 18-story One Place Tower. The tower is situated in a prominent location directly in front of the iconic BOK Center. The nearly one-third million square feet of office space is 100 percent leased with additional retail and restaurants space located on the ground floor. The anchor tenant is Cimarex Energy, a Denver-based oil and gas exploration company. According to the Tulsa Metro Chamber’s economist Bob Ball, Cimarex’s economic impact on downtown Tulsa is $1.8 million after three years.
“This project truly represents a significant return on the public’s investment in downtown Tulsa – through Vision 2025 – and proves our region’s dream for downtown is being realized,” said Delise Tomlinson, executive director of downtown development for the Tulsa Metro Chamber. “OnePlace will add life and vitality to the downtown experience and serves as a catalyst for further downtown development.”
One Place Tower is the first phase in the overall development of One Place. This mixed-use development will feature residential units, a hotel, public and more retail and restaurants. Northwestern Mutual Financial Network has already announced plans to build its Oklahoma flagship office in the development. Commencement on the next phase is expected in the third quarter of 2011.
