Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa has broken ground on a $200 million trauma emergency center and patient tower. The project will include an emergency center, as well as intensive care and surgery rooms. It also will include two helicopter pads.
Tulsa Metro Chamber Senior Vice President for Economic Development Jim Fram said the importance of this project to the Tulsa metro area cannot be overstated.
“This $200 million, 400 new job announcement is one of those projects that a community like Tulsa expects to enjoy only once in a decade or so,” Fram said. “We have been fortunate that through the work of Tulsa’s Future and its many partners, this project is added to several large capital investment projects that have come to fruition in the past several years and a couple of others still in the pipeline.”
Fram added, “With healthcare as one of Tulsa’s Future’s primary business targets, this announcement of new jobs and significant capital investment greatly enhances our efforts to recruit more new jobs to the Tulsa region.”
Construction on the new $200 million facility, which will be located on the west side of the hospital campus at 6161 S. Yale Ave., will begin this fall, with scheduled completion in the summer 2014.
