Tulsa region included on list of leading global metro economies
The Tulsa region recently was ranked among the world’s leading metropolitan economies for income and employment growth throughout 2010 and 2011, earning a spot on the Brookings Institution’s top 100 metro economies report.
Tulsa placed 73rd in the Global MetroMonitor, part of Brookings’ Metropolitan Policy Program.
Fifty-seven U.S. metros are included in the report. The report analyzes data on gross domestic product, employment, income (per capita GDP), and population, among other factors.
Most of the rapidly-growing metros lie outside the United States and Western Europe.
