Resource Campaign meets goal, $2.55 million stretch goal set

With less than a week remaining in the Chamber’s Resource Campaign, campaign volunteers celebrated a huge victory at last week’s rewards session when it was announced that the $2.3 million goal had been reached.

“You are absolutely fantastic,” said Campaign Chair Wade Edmundson, CEO of Summit Bank to volunteers. “You raised more than $150,000 during the previous two weeks, which results in our beating the $2.3 million goal. You are clearly a very special group of volunteers.”

To date, volunteers have raised $2,341,907, but with one week remaining they received a new challenge when Tulsa Metro Chamber Chairman Don Walker, president and CEO of Arvest Bank, announced a stretch goal of $2.55 million.

Last year’s campaign brought in a total of $2,540,290 and volunteers raised $420,000 in the final week to reach that goal. To reach the $2.55 million stretch goal, volunteers will need to raise $208,000 in the final week.

The Chamber's annual Resource Campaign, which generates revenue by selling sponsorships and memberships, officially kicked off on April 6. This campaign contributes approximately 23 percent of the Chamber's total annual budget, all of which is directly returned to Chamber members in the form of business-building events and initiatives that benefit the entire community.

Finalist - ACCE announces winner Aug. 5, 2010
For the third consecutive eligible year, the Tulsa Metro Chamber has been named one of two finalists for the Nation's Best Chamber award, an honor given annually by the American Chamber of Commerce Executives.

If the Chamber wins the award this year, it will mark the first time a chamber has qualified and won the title for three back-to-back years of eligibility.

"Tulsa's chamber is predominantly one of the strongest in the nation and an industry leader," said Mike Neal, president and CEO of the Tulsa Metro Chamber.

The award recognizes excellence in operations, member services and community leadership. The other finalist is Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce. The winner will be announced Aug. 5 at ACCE’s annual conference in Milwaukee.

Chamber’s Membership Directory offers increased exposure

Imagine having a sales representative working for you who never took a day off and always responded quickly to potential clients. When you choose to showcase your business in the Tulsa Metro Chamber Membership Directory and Community Profile you are positioning your company before thousands of prospects each year.

Production is now under way and, as always, the Chamber’s membership directory presents an outstanding “members only” opportunity. An advertisement helps make a statement about your company’s commitment to the Chamber and the community as a whole. Our membership directory and community profile is our most highly requested publication and is disseminated to thousands locally and nationally.

The entire publication, including all advertisements, is placed on the Chamber Web site at www.TulsaChamber.com  at no additional cost. This is an added bonus and a great opportunity to promote your business to the more than 100,000  visitors the Chamber site receives each year.

Chamber membership entitles each company to one listing in the alphabetical section by company and one in the classified section by type of business. The company will be listed in the Buyer’s Guide section under their primary classified listing only. If you wish to be listed under more than one classified listing, please discuss the additional listings with the Lawton Publications representative when they call.

Thank you for your help in providing Chamber members with a valuable marketing tool. If you would like to discuss your company’s participation, please email the Chamber’s office at TracyPope@TulsaChamber.com  or call 918-560-0249.
